Adam Verses Ben

Author's Note: this is my third attempt to do my Conflict and Resolution .

The conflict of Deadly Little Lies by Laurie Stolarz is Adam  and Ben aren’t friends , anymore . They use to be best friends until a tragic thing happens , someone important to both of them ends winds up dead .  Typically this would be sad , and they would give each other comfort , right ? Wrong . They end up hating each other . They can't find a way to get along , nor a way to talk .

As the conflict begins,  Ben is being blamed by Adam for Julie's death, but really  Ben was just trying to find out more about what was going on behind his back about Julie and Adam, and in the process when Ben tried grabbing Julie's arm so she didn't fall off the cliff, she rejected his gesture and tried avoiding his hand and she backed up, causing her to fall to her death. Adam and Ben were devastated after Julie died, because they both loved her. Adam loved Julie just as much as Ben did. Because Adam thought he intentionally tried to kill her, he's been seeking revenge on Ben and will reek havoc on his life until Adam makes Ben feel what Julie felt when she died.

 However, the conflict really starts to heat up when Adam starts to plan how to get revenge on Ben for Julie's death. Adam plans to take someone Ben loves and cares for from him , because that is what Ben did to him with Julie . Adam finds out where Ben's new location is , and follows him there .  Adam sees that Ben and Camelia are together and have strong feelings and since Adam now knows who Ben is connected with , Adam must take her away . Adam ends up working at the same pottery place as Camelia and Adam makes it seem like he's there for her , and she believes him . She begins to grow apart from Ben and closer to Adam . So Adam's plan must be working right? Wrong , he ends up falling for her .

In the end, the conflict isn't really resolved . Ben and Adam never forgave each other , they never made up , they can't seem to get along at all . The only connection they have is Camelia . Sadly , this only makes the tension between them worse .

As you can see, the resolution is nothing exciting, since they don't solve their problems and still aren't friends . They can't seem to get over the fact that history keeps repeating itself between them . They both end up falling for the same girl . That girl can't exactly chose with one they like more , so Ben and Adam are now fighting with each other for love , causing them to continuously hate each other . Looks like not every love story has a happy ending after all .

Trojan Horse

The conflict was that Helen married King Menelaus , but she fell in love with a guy in Troy . So she ran from Greek and ran to Troy . She caused a war , which was how this problem was resolved . Menelaus was mad to wake up with himself , no wife . She just disappeared in his eyes . So he took his soldiers' and took off to Troy . Once Menelaus found Helen , she lied and said she was kidnapped against her will . With her being the most beautiful woman on earth , and being his wife , he believed her .

Yes , something could happen like this nowadays . I believe it could go on anywhere really . School , job , hospital , anywhere . I don’t think that the people would take it to the extremes of a war , but maybe a fight .  I mean , fights about girls or guys happen a lot in this world . But usually not wars where they kill people . I haven't seen a war over a girl before , but I have seen fist fights over a girl in books , TV shows , and even real life . I don't know of anyone would kill for a girl , but there are people like that out there . 

Who Am I ?

This fictional character, is a character who is best known as a masked monster. For example, he walks around with a machete killing every victim in his path. We got to look at it from everyone's point of view, What if he is just a guy with a really ugly face and wants to be a hedge trimmer…In the middle of the woods?  People make assumptions all the time about him, not even considering that there could possibly be a whole different perspective of him.

The reasoning for his strange ways is based on his history. When he was a young boy, he drowned in a lake by the name of Crystal Lake. He, not too long after that raised himself in the woods near the Lake's campsite where he had drowned.  He has been killed, buried, and resurrected himself so many countless times, yet he looks like he's never had a scratch on him. 

He waits until an innocent victim comes wandering  through the woods or into the very lake where he drowned. He will nonchalantly wait from a distance, awaiting to avenge everyone that comes near the territory where he drowned so everyone else can feel the pain that he did and still does to this day. This character has a very unique way with his murders. He will let the night sky fall, and will start hinting to the victim. He would break sticks, step loud and purposefully on leaves or twigs to signal his coming. I didn’t say his name but he popped into your head, didn’t he? Who am I?

Deadly Little Lies

Author's Note: this is my second attempts revision on Conflict and Resolution .

(The conflict is the guy wants the girl, but he cant because he doesn’t want to hurt her.) 16 year old Camelia 's life was normal,  until she met Ben. Ben is a mysterious boy who was a suspect to his ex- girlfriend's death. Everyone else's opinion about Ben was that he was a murderer trying to cover up his tracks, but Camelia truly believed he didn't commit the crime and that he was innocent on the account of his ex-girlfriend's death.

First she doesn't believe it, nor does she want to. She thinks that it's just another prank the people in her school are playing. (The people in her school love to play pranks all the time.) Then something happens. Something Camelia wasn't expecting; at all. People had been saying that Ben was stalking this girl named Debbi, a quiet girl; yet popular one. Of course Camelia wasn't going to believe it. Honestly, what would you have done? Her school is full of people who start drama. Plus Ben is the new guy, who wouldn't want to start things with him?

Generally the thought that Ben was stalking Debbi just flew over Camelia 's head. Until she found out that Ben's ex- girlfriend did die, and Ben was there when it happened. But Ben says it was an accident. With Camelia liking him so much, and trusting him, she believed him. Then Debbi got hurt a couple months after those stalker rumors were started. Debbi ended up getting hit by a car, and put in a coma for awhile. Debbi said it was Ben. The only obstacle in Debbi's story, was that Ben was with Camelia that same night. As a matter of fact, he just left her house when Debbi got hit. Yes, there is a possibility that Ben could have done it; but Ben doesn't own a car, he owns a motorcycle. 

Basically Ben is a special person… He has a very  special ability. It's called psychometry , this gives people the ability to see into the future, past, or present through touch. Now, Ben has had this for virtually his whole life, but the problem is, Ben still can't control it. Meaning, he can't control his power.

Next lets talk about the death of Ben's ex-girlfriend, Julia. Yes, Ben was there, and he kind of caused it. It was only because Ben couldn't control himself. When Julia and Ben where together, she was cheating on Ben with Ben's best friend. Julia kept it a secret from him. But it wasn't too long after she started that Ben found out. How did he find out you ask? It was because of his power. Ben and Julia were on a hike together, and then their skin collided. Ben touched her arm, and could see Julia and his best friend together. He was so eager to find out more, so he grabbed tighter. Which scared Julia, so she pried her arm from his hands. The problem was she spun around too much, and was too close to the edge. Ben reached out to grab her, but she was already falling to her death.

Finally Ben told Camelia this story, about Julia. And Camelia was also told about his special power. She thought it was cool, but everything became a little more clear to her. She figured out why Ben was never really in the hall during passing time, why he came into his classes later than others, and why Ben was never really around anyone. It was because he didn't want to see all those secrets people had, he didn't want to start drama for him, or for anyone. Camelia and Ben where together as a couple for a while, but than Ben couldn't do it anymore. He couldn't keep control of his power, his strength. He didn’t want her to get uncomfortable around him, and he certainly didn’t want to hurt Camelia like he did to Julia. So he broke it off with Camelia, no matter how much she meant to him. He didn’t want anything to happen to her.

(The resolution is Ben ends up regretting leaving her, but she has already started seeing someone else.) Imagine if you were in Ben's position, what would you have done? Do you think he made the right choice by breaking it off with her? Or do you think he should have stayed with her and tried to work things out together?
